Terms of Service

Effective October 17, 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME] ("24H", "we", "us"), the operator of the 24H app. By creating an account or using 24H, you agree to these Terms, to our Privacy Policy and to the Community Rules in the app. If you don't agree, don't use 24H.

1. Who can use 24H

You may use 24H only if all of these are true:

  • You are a current Georgia Tech student with an active @gatech.edu email address that you control.
  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • We have not previously suspended or removed your account.
  • You can form a binding contract with us and are not barred from using the app under applicable law.

You may have only one account. Don't share your account or let anyone else use it.

2. Not affiliated with Georgia Tech

24H is an independent app. It is not operated, sponsored or endorsed by the Georgia Institute of Technology. Your @gatech.edu address is used only to confirm that you are a student. "Georgia Tech" and "Yellow Jackets" are used only to describe who the app is for.

3. How 24H works

Each day you choose Group Mode, where you're placed at random into a room of up to 10 people, or Individual Mode, where you're paired with one other person who chose Individual Mode. Your choice is final for that day; you can set a default in Settings. Everyone in a room appears under a temporary alias. Rooms support text, photos, voice messages and polls. Every room closes at midnight (Eastern time), and its messages are then permanently deleted on the schedule described in our Privacy Policy. We don't guarantee that your room will have a particular number of people, or that you'll be paired on any given day.

You can also set a daily mood (cooked, locked in, delusional or chilling), which your room sees, and mention people in your room with @ and their alias, which notifies them if they've allowed it.

In Group Mode you can choose to send your phone number privately to up to two people in your room each day. Only the person you send it to sees it, and you can't take it back. Once someone has your number, they can contact you outside 24H, and these Terms and our moderation no longer cover that contact. Only send your number to people you're comfortable hearing from.

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of 24H at any time.

4. Anonymity has limits

Other users see your alias, not your name or email. But:

  • We know which account wrote each message. We can see that information when we handle reports, enforce these Terms or respond to legal requests.
  • Other people may recognize you from what you write, your voice or your photos. They can also take screenshots, or save or record what you share, before a room closes. Don't post anything you wouldn't want shared.
  • Messages disappear from the app when a room closes, but copies may exist in backups for a limited time and in reports, as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Your content

You own what you post. To run 24H, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, transmit and display your content to the members of your room. The license also covers reviewing your content for safety and moderation. The license ends when your content is deleted from our systems, except for copies we keep as described in our Privacy Policy (for example, in reports).

You are responsible for what you post. You confirm that you have the right to post it and that it doesn't break these Terms or the law.

6. Community Rules: zero tolerance

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not use 24H to:

  • Harass, bully, threaten, intimidate or stalk anyone.
  • Post hate speech, or content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or other protected traits.
  • Post sexual content involving minors. We report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and to law enforcement.
  • Post nudity or sexually explicit content, or intimate content about anyone without their consent.
  • Post photos or recordings of other people without their permission, or anything recorded in a place where people expect privacy.
  • Share anyone's personal information, including their name, contact details, address, class schedule or photos, or try to find out who someone behind an alias is.
  • Encourage self-harm, suicide or violence.
  • Impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • Spam, advertise, sell, or run scams or phishing.
  • Break the law or encourage others to.
  • Interfere with 24H. This includes accessing other accounts, bypassing limits or security, scraping, reverse engineering, or using bots or automated accounts.
  • Create multiple accounts or come back after being removed.

7. Reporting, blocking and moderation

Press and hold any message to report it or block its sender. When you report a message, a copy of it is sent to us. Our moderators review every report and aim to act on it within 24 hours. Actions may include removing the message for everyone in the room, suspending the account that posted it for a period of time, or permanently removing that user. If several people report the same message, it is hidden from the room right away until a moderator reviews it. You can also reach us at support@the24h.app.

We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion if we believe someone has broken these Terms, if it is needed to protect users, or if the law requires it. We may do so without notice. We don't monitor all content and are not responsible for content posted by users.

8. Your safety

24H is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, call 911, or Georgia Tech Police at 404-894-2500. If you are struggling, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).

9. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings > Delete account. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for any reason, including breaking these Terms. Sections 4, 5 (for content kept as described in the Privacy Policy), 9 and 11 to 17 continue to apply after your account ends.

If you believe content on 24H infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at support@the24h.app that includes the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3). We may remove the content and terminate users who repeatedly infringe.

11. Disclaimers

24H IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. THIS INCLUDES IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT 24H WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR ERROR-FREE. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF ANY USER, ONLINE OR OFFLINE.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF 24H. THIS APPLIES EVEN IF WE WERE ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO 24H IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

13. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your content, your use of 24H, or your breach of these Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or 24H will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Fulton County, Georgia. You and we both consent to those courts' jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us first and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make a material change, we'll show you the new Terms in the app and ask you to accept them before you continue using 24H. The effective date at the top shows when these Terms last changed.

16. Apple App Store

If you downloaded 24H from Apple's App Store, these additional terms apply:

  • These Terms are between you and us only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for 24H and its content.
  • Your license to use 24H is limited to using it on Apple-branded products you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for 24H.
  • If 24H fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to 24H.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims relating to 24H or your use of it. This includes product liability claims, claims that 24H fails to meet any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging any claim that 24H or your use of it infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.
  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country. You also confirm that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept these Terms, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

17. General

These Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Community Rules are the entire agreement between you and us about 24H. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a provision, we haven't waived it. You may not transfer these Terms. We may transfer them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

18. Paid plans

24H offers optional monthly plans, God Mode and Kublai Mode, sold as auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple's App Store at the prices shown in the app. Apple processes the payment; we don't receive your payment details.

  • Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. Plans renew automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Cancelling and switching. Manage, switch or cancel your plan in Premium > Manage subscription or in your Apple ID settings. A cancelled plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Changes. We may change a plan's price or what it includes. Apple tells you about price increases in advance, as its rules require.
  • Account removal. If we suspend or terminate your account for breaking these Terms, your plan's benefits end and Apple's refund policies apply. Deleting your 24H account doesn't cancel the App Store subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID settings so you aren't billed again.
  • One account. A plan belongs to the 24H account that bought it and can't be moved to another account.
  • What's included. God Mode includes the benefits listed in the app, such as choosing your alias, profile colors, chat themes, message effects, extra reactions, statistics, a badge, a premium app icon, unlimited daily drops and sending your number to unlimited people. Kublai Mode includes everything in God Mode. The Community Rules apply to everything you do with them, including your alias and effects.
